Yes, I use a diamond sharpening rod to sharpen all my garden tools even shovels . Get one with a medium grit and just a few strokes on the top side and then one or two strokes on the underside after 3very three or four uses is all that is needed. Be sure to keep blades cleaned and oiled to prevent rust. Rust will eat away the edge faster and dull the edge more than actual use.
